10th Graders To Hold Silent Auction of Student Artwork
During the month of March, Wright State University will be hosting a display of posters created by 10th grade students as part of their recent study of conflicts and genocides. The posters will be displayed at the Charles & Renate Frydman Educational Resource Center (ERC), 116 Allyn Hall on the campus of Wright State University.
The unit is a collaboration between World History teacher Arch Grieve and Language Arts teacher Jenn Reid, who are in their fourth year doing this project. This year, we anticipate having 43 pieces of artwork on display. The twist the students wish to add this year is an auction of their artwork, with the proceeds going to UNICEF. Their goal is to help alleviate the problems caused by conflict and genocide through raising money for an organization that helps people affected by it.
We are planning a reception and art auction to be held on Tuesday, March 11th, from 5:00pm-6:00pm, at which many of the student artists will be present. We hope you can join us! There will be light snacks and some of the artists will be present. To find out more about the unit, check out the project page on the STEM School website, and check out the video below!
